How the Florence pass prices are built

The passes price themselves in several different ways, so a single starting figure says little. The Florence City Pass counts consecutive days, from one day up to seven: the first day carries most of the price and every further day adds a smaller step, so the price per day falls the longer the pass runs. The Florence Flex Pass from the same issuer counts attractions instead of days, from two to seven, and the price per attraction falls as you add more. The Brunelleschi Pass has one duration, 3 calendar days, and therefore no ladder of days at all. The Firenzecard has one duration as well, 72 hours from the first entry, and one adult card that carries the family. The two Tiqets products, the Florence Pass and the Uffizi & Accademia Pass, are packages: you buy a start date, the options you want per module and the number of visitors, and the total follows from the options rather than from a duration.

What sits inside the City Pass starting price

The starting figure of the City Pass is not the bare pass. Tickets for the Uffizi Gallery and the Accademia Gallery are preselected in the basket, which is also why Turbopass can reserve both time slots for you at purchase. Deselect them and the pass drops a long way, but it then carries neither of the two museums Florence is known for, and you have to buy those entries somewhere else. Read the ladder above with that in mind: the first day is expensive because it contains two of the most expensive tickets in the city.

Which duration pays off

A City Pass for a single day has to earn both reserved museum slots on that one day, and a short stay rarely gets past them. From the second day on the guided city tour, the bike hire, San Marco, the Innocenti and the archaeological museum start to add up, and the price per day falls at the same time. Against it stands the Firenzecard, which is the stronger offer for a museum-heavy stay of three days, because it opens the whole circuit of the city and pays the museum reservations itself. If those 72 hours run out with museums still unseen, the digital card can be restarted for another 48 hours within twelve months, at extra cost. The Brunelleschi Pass is a different calculation altogether: there is no alternative to it for the dome, so the question is not whether it pays off but which of the Opera del Duomo passes matches the monuments you actually want.

Where the passes meet the gate price

Two of the state museums do most of the work in every sum. If you would pay nothing or almost nothing for them, no pass will beat that. Visitors under 18 enter the Uffizi, the Accademia, the Pitti Palace and the Bargello free, EU citizens aged 18 to 25 pay a reduced rate, and the first Sunday of every month is free for everyone, with no reservation taken on those days. The attractions page lists which pass covers which house, and the single Uffizi ticket shows what the gate charges when a pass is not the answer.

Questions about prices

Are there child prices? +

On one pass. The Florence City Pass has a teen rate from 15 to 17 and a child rate from 5 to 14, with under-fives free. The Firenzecard is an adult card that carries family members under 18 for nothing. The Tiqets packages and the Brunelleschi Pass price children by the rules of each museum.

Why do some passes have no ladder? +

Because they are sold as one package without a choice of days. The Florence Pass and the Uffizi & Accademia Pass fix their modules and their time slots at booking, so there is no duration and no age tier to tabulate. The comparison sets them against the passes that count days.

For whom does a pass rarely pay off? +

For visitors who pay little at the gate anyway. Under 18 is free at the Uffizi, the Accademia, the Pitti Palace and the Bargello, EU citizens aged 18 to 25 pay a reduced rate and the first Sunday of the month is free for everyone. If one museum is the whole plan, the single Uffizi ticket is the cheaper route.
